friday's post

it was a night out, I can't tell you quite what I had but i've got this funny feeling it might have even been a big mac with a friend's voucher book (wasn't bad at all)

tuesday's post

I went for a curry with my parents because it was their wedding anniversary, very nice of them to take me along
This was my first time going out for a curry and it was very different, I wish I could remember the name of what I had or what region it was from but I didn't even bother trying to pronounce it, I just said the number it was on the menu

Dinner 7.40PM (maybe)

  • started with some poppadoms, they were very nice, and very different from the ones we have at home, they were darker and tasted maybe more corny in flavour - they were served with some kind of raita, some kind of onion sauce thing and a chili sauce which was my favourite, it really was nice
  • for a starter I had some very nice lamb pieces with a tangy kind of loose curry sauce in a separate little egg cup sized dish, this was lovely and maybe the highlight of the meal for me, we also got more of the raita and chili sauce with that part of the meal
  • I had a spicey chicken curry for my main, it was with peppers and onions and I really really enjoyed it but there was just too much of it, I didn't think i'd ever have to say it but I was given just too much food, felt kind of bad about leaving something as well
  • with it we shared a portion of pilau spicey rice, I didn't see why we'd share rice but when I saw the size of the curry portion I got it, the rice was very nice too but I didn't need it at all
  • also had some naan bread that had caramelised red onion in the middle which was another highlight of the night, it was also lovely and buttery
  • I also had two cokes with the meal, which was lovely, I can see how people can get used to having coke with an evening meal

tuesday's post, my leavers ball

I got up at about 9.45AM I think

it was my leavers ball so it was mass catering and I didn't have a camera with me sadly but i'll do a write up like I used to do before this was a picture blog

Dinner 8.20PM or so

  • we got stuck in traffic and missed the starter which was bread and melon
  • it was a lot like a fancy school dinner, a very big fatty piece of chicken which I wasn't really into
  • a bit of gravy that was too thin and oily for my liking
  • overcooked vegetables which were a couple of sticks of carrot and I think asparagus which were tough and tied together with a really overdone bit of sage or something
  • and some mash that was kind of salty and very thick - there was too much food really
  • but the pudding was amazing, a lovely lovely lovely chocolate brownie which was still warm when it arrived
  • with some kind of fudge coffee ice-cream on top of it which was lovely too
  • really the main course didn't matter because the pudding was just so nice
