friday's post

Dinner 7.15PM

  • got some lovely sausages there
  • some very sweet peppery gravy on top of them - now i've stopped adding salt to my food I can really taste sweetness properly, its not even that much of a good thing though
  • lovely baked potato again
  • and some green beans from the garden, some all cut up and some left whole - I think this is one of my favourite ways to have them because I can leave some of the beans to the end of the meal - or eat them at the start - whilst I have the cut up beans to eat with the gravy and sausages

thursday's post

Dinner 6.50PM

  • thats a lovely piece of chicken, hidden in bits of bacon, mushroom and red pepper
  • the sauce was very nice, it was a kind of sweet soy sauce thing
  • also got some of that nice yellow saffron rice there, with some yoghurt and chives on top of it which I ended up trying to mix onto the chicken but it didn't really work properly
  • in the bowl on the left there are green beans from the garden, some are diced in that really fine manner and some are a lot thicker, I really like having the mix and having them on the separate plate, its takes a moment more thought to think about considering them when you're eating the rest of the meal though

wednesday's post

Dinner 6.50PM

  • this is one of my mum's meals, thats swedish inspired meat balls which I always like, they're all pork instead of the beef and pork mix
  • got some kind of potato gratin made with potatoes from thew garden there too, this always seems to stay hot for too long which is nice because I like to savour it
  • also got some green beans from the garden which I ate quite quickly
  • and some carrots, haven't had carrots cut like that in a while

tuesday's post

I went for a curry with my parents because it was their wedding anniversary, very nice of them to take me along
This was my first time going out for a curry and it was very different, I wish I could remember the name of what I had or what region it was from but I didn't even bother trying to pronounce it, I just said the number it was on the menu

Dinner 7.40PM (maybe)

  • started with some poppadoms, they were very nice, and very different from the ones we have at home, they were darker and tasted maybe more corny in flavour - they were served with some kind of raita, some kind of onion sauce thing and a chili sauce which was my favourite, it really was nice
  • for a starter I had some very nice lamb pieces with a tangy kind of loose curry sauce in a separate little egg cup sized dish, this was lovely and maybe the highlight of the meal for me, we also got more of the raita and chili sauce with that part of the meal
  • I had a spicey chicken curry for my main, it was with peppers and onions and I really really enjoyed it but there was just too much of it, I didn't think i'd ever have to say it but I was given just too much food, felt kind of bad about leaving something as well
  • with it we shared a portion of pilau spicey rice, I didn't see why we'd share rice but when I saw the size of the curry portion I got it, the rice was very nice too but I didn't need it at all
  • also had some naan bread that had caramelised red onion in the middle which was another highlight of the night, it was also lovely and buttery
  • I also had two cokes with the meal, which was lovely, I can see how people can get used to having coke with an evening meal

monday's post

Dinner 6.50PM

  • thats lovely spaghetti bolognese with a mix of beef and pork mince
  • I ended up putting a shed load of pesto on it, in about 3-4 helpings, a little bit on top, then mix that through, then two fair amounts, mix that all up, then a little that was left on the spoon, I think I should stop doing this but I love doing it

sunday's post

Dinner 7.40PM

  • thats some roast lamb which was very nice
  • with some mint sauce, which was mainly made with mint from the garden but with some mint sauce from the jar for the consistency
  • some beans from the garden which I always like
  • got gravy before and after there too
  • and some carrots
  • and some potatoes from the garden that my mum did with flour like she would for normal potatoes, i'm not sure which I like best with these tiny potatoes but I am a fan of these because they are so crispy
  • some yorkshire puddings there too

saturday's post

Dinner 6.40PM

  • this was a lovely meal, proper a-level celebration meal
  • thats a very nice bit of steak with red peppers and mushrooms on top of it - I really like having mushrooms with steak I think, it took me some getting used to but its one of my favourite things now
  • got some green beans from the garden which I mainly had first
  • some onion rings
  • some lovely chips
  • some bread from the deli that I saved to the end to have after i'd had
  • that salad which was spring onion, tomato and cucumber
  • the salmon over there is my mum's dinner, she doesn't tend to eat a great deal of meat and I don't know really how much I like salmon
