saturday's post

today I got up at about 10.40AM and went to the cinema which was good - we saw Valkyrie, i'm not going to go on about it, but I really did enjoy seeing all the well groomed hairstyles

Breakfast

  • nah, I don't like to have anything on a saturday

Lunch 1.00PM

  • for lunch we went to subway, this was the first ever time i've ever had something from subway and it wasn't too bad, I had a sweet onion chicken teriyaki sub, I picked hearty italian as the bread and on it I had no cheese, no tomatoes, but I did have some cucumber and lettuce (I was too intimidated by the whole process to ask for gherkins, peppers and a cookie which is what I really wanted)
  • the chicken itself wasn't really up to much, it was small, and tasted kind of irony, or metally, it just generally wasn't that enjoyable of a taste, the onions weren't bad though
  • the lettuce and cucumber both tasted great, just like the stuff we have at home
  • the bread was weird, I didn't have it toasted, it was soft and felt like it shouldn't be very nice but it was lovely and I think i'd go again just for the bread and vegetables which were both perfect - I think subway as a whole was a bit expensive but i'd like to try it again (I still like eat better)
  • at about 5.30PM we went to tescos, and I tried a danish pastry for the first time and it was absolutely amazing, one of my new favourite things and I have ot have one again soon. I know everyone must know what one is so I won't go on about it, but basically it was one of the most perfect treats i've ever had
  • we then went and got some sarsaparilla, which was as good as ever and nice and sticky

Dinner 6.50PM

  • dinner was perfectly timed for when I came through the door (todays food really is going well) it was a boneless lamb chop with some onions and mushrooms on it, it all had been cooking in honey and something else very important that I have now forgotten, i'll edit this when I find out for sure, the chop was very nice and sweet anyway
  • with that I had some mashed potato which my dad mixed with a tiny bit of horseradish sauce, this was really odd to taste but I enjoyed it when compared to the sweetness of the lamb
  • then I had some green beans that had a very tiny amount of onion on them, they were wonderful because we don't often have green beans
  • I then had a banana which was really quite nice, with no bad bits

Snacks 9.10PM+

  • today I had some white chocolate jazzies (I hope the white ones are called jazzies, i'm not too sure) which were really weird, its like they took the chocolate from white mice, made it taste a bit funny but still nice - I found out no-one else likes these so I felt a bit of a bastard having bought a big bag of them, i'm probably not going to get them again

friday's post

on friday I got up at about 9.40AM, I was really really tired again

Breakfast 9.45AM

  • for breakfast I had special k flakes with full fat milk, i'm not decided if I like just special k so much because I think i've been spoiled with having stuff like special k with red berries

Lunch 1.10PM

  • for lunch I had some orange juice (still eggy, going to change this very soon I think)
  • some carrot sticks
  • some salami in a tiger bread roll from the day before, I think tiger bread like this tastes amazing, its like it loses that flakey quality and gets kind of thick and full like the main meal is the bread and the salami is just an excuse to eat the lovely bread
  • I also had a nice scone
  • I have actually decided to change my lunch now, i'm probably going to have rice with peas and carrots now

Dinner 6.45PM

  • dinner was curry which was wonderful, my mum has been off ill so shes been cooking a lot this week, and next week she'll be going back so this was the last day to have some of her cooking, she was going to use a pataks mix but she made her own curry which was lovely
  • the curry was a chicken one, I don't know how to fully describe the taste, its like if a pataks curry was a paste, then this curry was some kind of grainy or thick powerdy thing, its a funny really filling and enjoyable taste
  • we had rice with it, I think the rice started out flavoured in some way, maybe it was kind of yellow in colour, but it was really quite dark and browny when the meal was served, it was very nice and kind of cinnamony
  • with that we had garlic naan bread which I had quite a bit of
  • and some poppadoms which were also very nice
  • there was the usual mango chutney on the table but I resisted using it on my meal and just put it all over the left over naan bread and poppadoms, I don't even know how much I like doing this but its just a habit
  • I then had a banana which was pretty good

Snacks

  • nope, nothing tonight

Friday 30 January 2009

thursday's post

on thursday I got up at about 8.35AM and had my english exam which wasn't too bad but then again, i'm not the examiner so only time will tell

Breakfast 8.40AM

  • for breakfast I had a bowl of special k which was nice, its like a more cluttered tasting bowl of rice flakes, I had it with full fat milk which I think helps

Lunch 12.20PM

  • all I had was my carrot sticks
  • and my orange juice which tasted eggy again - I didn't have time to eat anything else, and then I forgot about the rest anyway

Dinner 6.45PM

  • dinner was amazing, a real treat, for finishing the exams my mum made fried chicken, something she hasn't done in ages
  • the chicken its self was wonderful, the skin tasted crisp but not too greasy, I don't know how to describe it, its like you'd be eating it and it'd taste like normal herbs, then you'd taste something more.. I don't know, fragrant almost, like you were tasting a special spice - the meat its self was very nice too, good and soft and juicy
  • with that she did a good load of chips, they were very nice too - shes always done chips in the same way no matter what, its like they puff up and have a batter of their own, theres always little crispy puffy bits in the bottom of the bowl too.
  • there was some tiger bread too which was wonderful, I took ages eating it and had it with a lot of salt and pepper - I also put a bit of salt, and a lot of pepper on the chips and a little bit of salt on the chicken
  • there was also a big bowl of salad which was lettuce
  • spring onion
  • tomato bits
  • and cucumber chunks in the same light oily kind of sweet dressing as before - I think we got it from jamie oliver now I think of it
  • there was also coleslaw on the table, i've always previously refused to try it before because I thought it was made of cheese (I never asked) but today I went wild and tried it, it was some fancy brand and it was absolutely amazing, I had to stop my self from eating the whole thing, it was incredibly sweet and the onion taste was so strong it was out of this world, but compared to how creamy the thing was, the onion wasn't too much, it was so wonderful and I can't wait to have it again
  • after all of this I had a banana which I spent ages eating just to taste it properly, it was probably one of the best bananas i've had in quite a while

Snacks 7.45PM+

  • I started with some banks mild, which was a wonderful treat, I had about 4-5 glasses which is about 2 cans - I think this is a really drinkable kind of beer, it tastes kind of smooth and refreshing and its so much better than boddingtons because you can drink away the head very quickly
  • after that I had a wispa bar that I had bought earlier in the day to celebrate the end of the exams, I took quite a while eating it and it was very nice

wednesday's post

on wednesday I got up at about 8.55AM, I really couldn't wake up for some reason

Breakfast 9.05AM

  • for breakfast, I had the last bits of the nestle oats and more clusters cereal with the majority of the bowl being topped up with original special k flakes - tasting these again after nestle stuff all this time is very odd, its like they should be heavier and sweeter, not more sugary (I had it with full fat milk that had got a tad warm)

Lunch 1.45PM

  • first I had my carrot sticks, I had the idea that if I try and get a sweet carrot taste in my mouth, my orange juice won't taste eggy
  • this didn't work, I had the orange juice and after about half a second, it had the drying eggy taste to it
  • I then had a sesame seed bun with some salami in it, it was alright but I still think i'm going to change lunch
  • and I had a nice scone

Dinner 6.50PM

  • dinner was pizza, which was wonderful - I don't usually have cheese on my pizza
  • mine was bacon which I always manage to make fall off the pizza
  • mushrooms
  • onions (I love onions so much)
  • about two prawns, we usually use the tiny ones for pizzas but we didn't have any of those - I think the big ones are too overpowering for a pizza but they're still very nice
  • I put a load of salt and pepper on the pizza too, I always tend to do this
  • after that I hinted to my mum i'd like to try some pizza with cheese on, so she very kindly let me have some of hers which was pretty much the same bit with cheese on - from the little bit I had, i'm still not sure if I like pizza with cheese on, its a much fuller flavour and in some ways much more enjoyable but the cheese does get kind of overpowering for me
  • there was also a big bowl of salad which had some tomato
  • some lettuce
  • some spring onions
  • and cucumber chunks in the usual kind of oily dressing which I like
  • then I had a banana which didn't have any bad bits

Snacks 7.30PM

  • today my mum was cleaning up and she found one of those tiny packets of haribo starmix that I must have dropped somewhere over christmas, and they were wonderful to have - this now means that the christmas sweets are officially all eaten

hi, i'm about to try and catch up on everything now

sorry I haven't been posting, all my exams are over until the summer now - I finished with english which didn't go too badly

Tuesday 27 January 2009

tuesday's post

today I got up at about 9.40AM feeling really rough

Breakfast 9.45AM

  • for breakfast I had some of that nestle oats and more with almonds cereal, it was nice but because I had left breakfast so long the milk left out was just a little warm which meant it was all a bit sweeter than normal, still nice though

Lunch 1.25PM

  • for lunch I had some orange juice which wasn't very nice
  • some carrot sticks which had an oniony taste which was surprisingly nice
  • and a nice, big and firm sesame seed bun with some salami in it
  • I also had a nice scone

Dinner 7.10PM

  • for dinner we had dirty rice, I had two plates of it
  • it had some peas
  • some carrots
  • little crunchy onions
  • prawns and some other little things like some little bits of egg, I started to try and put quite a bit of light soy on it but we ran out so I went for dark soy, I don't think I like this as much but I still love dirty rice
  • there was also some prawn crackers which were very nice
  • instead of the usual braised chicken, my mum made some lemon and chili chicken which was so incredibly hot and lovely, probably the hottest thing shes ever done - it was really funny in how it worked, the chicken was nice and soft, and the red chili hotness then went away before it could become too much so then the lemon flavour came in which was very nice and clean - there was a little skin on my piece but I think my dad had decided that he'd have most of my chicken's skin when I wasn't looking (I also nearly ate the chili thinking it was a little carrot)
  • there was also some good and balanced vegetable stir fry, which was little bits of broccoli
  • little bits of cauliflower (which i'm actually really warming to)
  • some carrots
  • some water chestnuts which weren't too big at all
  • some little spring onion bits
  • and a bit more spring onion in just a little bit of brothy kind of sauce
  • I then had a banana which wasn't too bad at all, it didn't have any bad bits on it

Snacks 8.20PM+

  • today all I had was some of the left over aldi dark chocolate which tasted really similar to bournville, on the other days it has tasted a bit more coffee like than bournville

monday's post

on monday I got up at about 8.35AM and had a really rough kind of day, jnust felt kind of heavy and I didn't end up getting much work done

Breakfast 8.40AM

  • I had a bowl of that oats and more nestle clusters cereal with almonds, it was very nice and the full fat milk was near spot on

Lunch 1.20PM

  • I started with my orange juice, which was really funny tasting and instantly after, I felt really really dizzy and sick (i'm really considering switching orange juice now)
  • I then had some carrots which tasted fine
  • my sesame seed bun today was probably the most phallic bun I had ever seen, in shape it was anything in between a willy and a snail's shell - I think i'm going off salami itself, but the actual bun was wonderful, it was big, tall and nice and firm
  • I then had a scone which was nice

Dinner 6.40PM

  • for dinner we had pasta bake using a mix of minced beef and minced pork (this is what we usually have in a pasta bake anyway) it was absolutely wonderful and I ended up putting loads of salt, and a little pepper on it
  • there was also a big bowl of salad which was lettuce
  • tomato chunks
  • spring onion
  • and bits of cucumber in an light kind of oily dressing that we have quite a bit
  • after that I had a pretty good banana, these recent bananas have been weird, its like its hard to really complain about them but theres nothing amazing about them either

Snacks 7.50PM+

  • first I had the left over portion of pasta bake (maybe this is why I love pasta bake so much) it was wonderful because some of it hardens a little whilst the rest of it stays fairly warm and kind of soft - I put loads and loads of salt and pepper on it going through different layers of pasta, I was going to use chili flakes too but I forgot to
  • I then had some of the aldi dark chocolate but after just a little I was well and truly full, I went to bed feeling full which was very odd, I usually go to bed feeling empty but not hungry

sunday's post

on sunday I got up at about 12.15PM and tried to get some work in

Breakfast

  • nope, I didn't have anything

Lunch 2.45PM

  • first I had my saturday lunch, which was a nearly perfect jam doughnut, it wasn't wet at all which seems to be the main problem with putting doughnuts in the fridge
  • with that I had a fentiman's orange jigger which is slowly becoming my favourite fentiman's drink now that my tescos orange juice that I have at lunch normally is starting to taste funny
  • after that I had two squares of the aldi chocolate left over from saturday night which were lovely
  • then it turned out that my mum had just finished making some scones, so I had a still kind of warm and soft scone with some margerine on it

Dinner 6.40PM

  • dinner was very nice, we had roast beef which I put a load of horseradish sauce on, enough to make my eyes water, my nose run, make me cough and send a good load of violent shivers and shocks up my spine (i'd do it all again)
  • with roast potatoes
  • yorkshire puddings
  • a mix of mashed carrot and swede that I ended up mixing with a fair bit of horseradish sauce, which I think ended up working out really well
  • some cauliflower which really wasn't too bad at all
  • with some brussel sprouts, which once again, tasted alright, I put a little horseradish sauce on these but barely any
  • over all of this I put a fairly light amount of gravy, probably a person's average portion - this wasn't by choice this time though, we actually ran out of the stuff
  • my mum then couldn't finish one of her potatoes so I had that which was lovely
  • I then had a banana which was pretty good

Snacks 9.10PM+

  • first we had some stroopwaffles, but this time my mum kindly got some from aldi - you got something like 12 in a packet and they were bigger than the ones we had from belgium, they were probably just as thick and they tasted wonderful - I don't know if this is right or not, but I seem to remember the belgium ones being a bit more buttery, whereas these were really quite caramelly
  • I then had my last can of red devil, which was a lot flatter than saturday's can but it was also a lot stronger and longer lasting with its flavour
  • I also had some more aldi dark chocolate which was very nice

Monday 26 January 2009

hi

sorry, i'll catch up the posts tomorrow night, got my last exam on thursday so I should be back to a good pace by then

Sunday 25 January 2009

saturday's post

I got up at about 8.20AM on saturday to go take pictures of a very good friend on his downhill bike, it was brilliant and really opened me up to the passion of photography again

Breakfast

  • nope, didn't have anything at all, just wanted to focus on getting there on time

Lunch 2.00PM (approx, not near a clock)

  • for lunch we went to the chippy, I had wonderful battered sausage and chips, it was the perfect thing to warm me up
  • a few hours later my friend kindly gave me a flapjack when he came to pick up the photos it was nice and sugary

Dinner 6.40PM

  • dinner was something i've been asking to have for months now - my dad used to do it a lot but got annoyed thinking he could never do it properly, its crispy pieces of fried pork, they were really nice and a great treat even if they weren't as crispy as he would like - they have a pleasing light taste that lets any seasoning and a lovely fatty taste come through, on these I could taste something really nice and sweet like soy sauce and the smallest amount of fishy taste I guess again from the soy, which was perfect
  • I had that on top of some beansprouts
  • with stuff like fried onions
  • spring onions and some very tiny mushrooms
  • and some broccoli in it
  • this was all very nice, and I ended up adding a bit more light soy to mine, trying to avoid overloading the meal with it
  • there were also slices of bread from the deli, I had about 3 slices, starting with cleaning my plate with one and ending up dipping the others in salt and pepper like I usually do
  • I then had a very nice banana

Snacks 8.40PM+

  • I started with some very nice aldi dark chocolate which always tastes different with each square, this whole bar mainly had a funny musty nutty taste that I really like, its duller than bournville so it doesn't hang about in your mouth when its not wanted
  • I also had a can of red devil energy drink, because they were two for £1 when I was out, I love red devil and I think its the only energy drink i've ever had, its got an incredible taste and smell, kind of like if humans forgot what strawberries and raspberries were, and we then tried to re-make them - I think how fizzy it is seems to change from can to can, this wasn't too fizzy at all, fizzier than a fentiman's drink, but not as fizzy as a pepsi which was really nice, probably perfect

Friday 23 January 2009

friday's post

today I got up at about 8.40AM and somehow had a kind of bad day with nothing bad happening

Breakfast 8.45AM

  • for breakfast I had that oats and more with almond cereal which was wonderful
  • I had it with full fat milk which was very nice too

Lunch 1.15PM

  • for lunch I had some carrots sticks which were nice, a lot of them today
  • some orange juice which again, tasted eggy
  • a normal sesame seed bun with some salami in it
  • a very nice scone, it was one of those ones which tastes like a cross between a loaf cake and a scone
  • I think I might change my lunch in a week or two, maybe to having some rice at lunch times because I think i'm starting to go off salami

Dinner 6.35PM

  • dinner was very nice, we had griddled chicken which I always like
  • and there was some tomato slices on my plate which I ate first to get rid of cold and hot food mixing
  • I did the same with some diced lettuce
  • there was also some chips which I added a lot of salt and pepper to
  • I also had a mini baguette which I used to clean my plate, then ate slowly by running it in salt and pepper on my plate
  • I also had a near perfect banana

Snacks 7.30PM+

  • first I had the last of my christmas stuff, a very small bag of haribo star mix, as much as I love these, I think they use harder sweets in the smaller packets
  • I then had some of that hard nougat stuff, coated in chocolate, i've decided I don't really like this so I probably won't have it again

thursday's post

so on thursday I started to get up at about 8.30AM but I really wasn't feeling too well so I ended up getting up at about 1.15PM - i'm not sure what it was, I might just have been really tired

Breakfast

  • I didn't have any breakfast, but I did half a couple of dry flakes of the oats and more cereal (tastes so nice when its dry)

Lunch 1.45PM

  • for lunch I had my lunch from wednesday, first I had my orange juice that tasted oddly eggy
  • then I had some carrots sticks
  • after that I tried the salami bun but it tasted horribly metally so I couldn't get more than two bites in sadly
  • I then had a very nice scone
  • after that I had a wonderful boost bar that I took ages to eat

Dinner 6.30PM

  • for dinner we had sausages, they were very nicely cooked and I took ages over the whole meal just trying to savour it because I think i've been eating too quickly a few times this week
  • mashed potatoes
  • some spring greens
  • and on that I put lots of lovely onion gravy
  • there was only the salt mill on the table, so I tried to limit how much i'd use, I didn't put much on the sausages, I put a good bit on the mash and a good bit on the spring greens (I think you need to sometimes on stuff like spring greens though)
  • my mum couldn't finish her sausages, she had smaller ones because she doesn't eat much meat anyway so I had about half of one of her sausages which would make it like a fat cocktail sausage - it tasted kind of funny for some reason
  • I also had a perfect banana which was better than the other ones this week

Snacks

  • nah, nothing today, I really wanted something though

Wednesday 21 January 2009

wednesday's post

I got up at about 8.15AM today and didn't go swimming, so I ended up in iceland with a friend

Breakfast 8.20AM

  • I had some nestle cereal with clusters in it, but i'm pretty sure there were some almond flakes in the cereal too which makes me think the cereal is oats and more almond cereal, it has that nestle taste to it but its so much sweeter and easier to eat in the morning compared to nestle clusters - the milk was also perfect again today (milkmans on a roll)

Lunch

  • I left my lunch at home expecting to have it later on in the afternoon but I didn't get around to it so i'm going to save it for tomorrow's lunch instead
  • out and about I bought a crunchie bar, which I was expecting to really enjoy, of course its nice its just kind of not nice at the same time (I also got a boost bar which i'm yet to eat)
  • after that in iceland I bought an aptly named bag of chew crew sweets to share (chew crew represent) which had some toffee things in it, with different kind of refreshers and lollies and stuff like that, they were all wonderful but harder and dustier than the refreshers I remember from when I was little
  • when I got home I also tackled another one of the lollies

Dinner 6.35PM

  • dinner was very nice, my dad did our usual chicken tikka curry using some of the pataks sauces as the base
  • it was very nice, we had it with rice, and he put quite a few onions in there which is what I like
  • we also had some garlic naan bread with it which tasted distinctly different from other recent naan breads from tescos - we're starting to think they switch supplier on the naan bread quite a bit because this was lovely, it was a bit softer and a lot more garlicy
  • I then had a banana which was better than the rest of the week's bananas

Snacks 8.15PM+

  • I meant to have my lunch now but my mum very kindly gave me something
  • everyone else had some peanuts so I was given some tescos milk chocolate which has a wonderful taste to it, it almost tastes like its not chocolate, its kind of nutty too and really creamy and maybe not as sickly as cadbury stuff but i'm not sure
  • I then had a good few refreshers/drumstick lollies

Tuesday 20 January 2009

there we go

fully updated, haven't got another exam for just over a week so I don't think i'll have a problem keeping up the posts

tuesday's post

today I got up at about 8.25AM after a long sleep that seemed quite short to go in for a business studies exam which went pretty well I think

Breakfast 8.30AM

  • breakfast was really nice, some nestle cluster cereal which was good and sweet with perfect full fat milk

Lunch 12.15PM

  • for lunch I had some orange juice
  • some carrot sticks
  • I started on my sesame seed bun with some salami in it but I didn't get to finish it or even start my scone before I needed to get to the exam which was annoying because its still stewing in my bag now I think about it

Dinner 6.45PM

  • dinner was really nice, it was a special dinner to make the end of my first exam, first I had some tomato slices
  • and some lettuce to clear space on my plate
  • then I had a wonderful piece of tandoori chicken
  • and a nice piece of chicken that was left over that my dad had cooked anyway, I put salt and pepper on this just because i've always wanted to
  • I then had some lovely belly pork, if its the weekend he'd usually double cook it (or something like that, i'm not well up on pork terminology) he'd boil it then he'd do it in the oven I think, he skipped the boiling because it was a week day and it left the pork kind of softer, and more cleaner tasting with loads of soft flavourful fat on the meat which was wonderful and kind of a weird attractive taste
  • then I had some ribs, they were very nice too, little ones made from cutting the normal ribs in half with a sticky coating with lots of sharp ginger in it
  • after all of that I had a small baguette which I spent ages eating, it was really special to have a meal like this at the start of the week
  • after that I had a banana which once again, looked perfect but tasted kind of off

Snacks 9.10PM+

  • my mum had bought some cofresh gujarati mix which was wonderful, I think I had about 3 bowls of the stuff, the best thing about it is it uses quite a bit of lentil sugar which I love so much - theres a mix that tastes pretty much 90% lentil sugar but I can't remember its name, lentil sugar is wonderful though
  • after that I had a nice cold can of dr.pepper which i'm still really enjoying as a drink, I meant to mix it with some sarsaparilla concentrate but I forgot

monday's post

on monday I got up at about 7.10AM as an effort to get to school early, I didn't manage that but I did start a watercolour of some dogs which was nice

Breakfast 7.15AM

  • breakfast was actually really nice, I think the cereal looks the same but it might be slightly different, it defiantly still tastes nestle but the whole thing was a lot sweeter and the milk was wonderful too

Lunch 1.10PM

  • before lunch, at about 11.35AM a friend very kindly gave me gave me a biscuit, it was incredibly thin with what I think were currants in it, none of the currants were bad and the biscuit its self was cinnamon tasting which was a really nice treat
  • for lunch I had some orange juice
  • some carrot sticks
  • and a sesame seed bun with some salami in it, the bun wasn't all dark with loads of seeds like last week's buns, I don't know whats going on there but I miss last week's buns
  • I also had a wonderful scone, it was darker in colour than a normal scone and tasted like a mix of a scone and a little bun cake which was very nice

Dinner 6.35PM

  • dinner was another spaghetti carbonara kind of thing, it was wonderful, we had it with fried onions and some chicken on top, I can always taste something bready about this which I really like, there were also some little bits of bacon in it
  • on the side of my plate there was also a lettuce leaf, which I ate first so the cold food didn't touch the hot food
  • with that my mum had bought a tomato bread thing, I think it was called a pull apart and share thing, it was really odd but nice at the same time, I don't usually like bread with stuff in it because you risk getting bad hard bits in the bread but this was really nice and the crust was very crunchy and crispy
  • I also had a banana after this, it was another perfect looking one with a slightly funny taste

Snacks 7.45PM+

  • I just helped finish off the bournville dark chocolate today because I needed to get up to go and revise

sunday's post

on sunday I got up at about 11.40AM and set my self up for a serious revision session (I had a long bath which took up most my time)

Breakfast

  • nah, I didn't have anything, I had two of those little coconut cakes at about midday but no actual breakfast

Lunch 2.05PM

  • for lunch I asked my dad to make me something so i'd have enough energy to properly focus later on in the afternoon, so he very kindly made me some carrots and peas with pesto which was lovely
  • I also finished off the coconut cakes after this, and they really were a strange kind of nice - its like you wouldn't go to the sweet shop and buy a bag of them, but a few after lunch is a very nice thing

Dinner 7.05PM

  • for dinner we had roast chicken, the chicken was lovely but I think I might have put too much salt on it
  • there was also a bit of chicken skin on the side of my plate which was a real treat
  • some roast potatoes
  • two yorkshire puddings
  • some broccoli
  • some carrots
  • and a few brussel sprouts, I didn't really warm to these as much as I did over christmas, I don't think i'm meant to like them too much
  • there was also a small amount of what I think were spring greens, but it could have just been something with the broccoli
  • there was some extra gravy so I gave in and had loads and loads of the stuff, now this was a very bad idea I think because it made everything very filling and warm tasting
  • I also ended up putting a lot of salt and pepper on everything (I don't really don't know why I did this)
  • I also tried bread sauce again - this is another thing that i'm really not sure on, I put it mostly on my vegetables and my roast potatoes, I think i'll have it again but I still don't know if I like it
  • after that my mum gave me two roast potatoes
  • and a yorkshire pudding that she couldn't finish which was very nice of her
  • I then had a banana, it looked perfect but tasted kind of funny

Snacks 8.50PM+

  • all I had tonight was some of that bournville dark chocolate which was very nice but i'm still wondering if they've changed the recipe of that stuff

ok here we go

i'm going to try and tackle them now

Sunday 18 January 2009

sorry i'll try and finish up the catch up tomorrow

got my first exam on tuesday and i'm itching to do some drawing, hopefully I can get the blog updated fully tomorrow

saturday's post

I got up at about 11.45AM on saturday and didn't go out because of revision which was annoying but I had the nicest lamb i've ever had before

Breakfast

  • nah, I didn't have anything

Lunch 2.15PM

  • for lunch I had a rock cake with some currants/raisins (I don't know the difference) in it and a new glace cherry on top - the rock cake its self was very nice, and so was the cherry but sadly there were quite a few more bad raisians than usual
  • I then had a bottle of fentiman's dandelion and burdock which was wonderful because I hadn't had this in such a long time, its a special taste thats a lot more of a treat than dr.pepper

Dinner 6.35PM

  • a bit before dinner I had some more of those little coconut tea cakes which i'm really warming to
  • dinner was when I had that wonderful lamb steak, it was absolutely amazing, it was kind of sweet, kind of smokey, not tough at all and certainly not bitter or metally tasting and it had a lot of flavour without being too bloody without a bone getting in the way too - I don't know how to fully describe it apart from I really really enjoyed eating it, it was so special
  • there was also some very nice salt and pepper kettle chips crisps
  • some diced lettuce in a bowl
  • and in another bowl there was some tomato salad with little bits of cucumber and onion and stuff in it which was nice
  • I then had a banana which was ok, kind of funny tasting but it looked fine

Snacks 9.10PM+

  • first we had some cadbury's bournville dark chocolate which was very nice, I think it tastes more tainted like cheaper chocolate compared to what it used to do, it just tastes less dark and more nutty and milky
  • then I had about half a bottle of wychwood's hobgoblin which is one glass worth in my favourite glass
  • I then had a glass and a little bit of wychwood's goliath beer, I used to call hobgoblin my favourite but now I can taste it back to back, goliath is so much nicer, I used to say hobgoblin has something oakey and kind of darkly fruity about it, but now its just kind of heavy and meaty, but goliath is brilliant, its like drinking something clean like that taste with rose water cookies, you can help but drink it quickly because its so refreshing without being weak and watery like lager - this is another one where its hard to get my feelings about it across, lets just say I could do with a lamb steak and a goliath right now

friday's post

today I got up at about 8.15AM and didn't get into school too late at all

Breakfast 8.20AM

  • breakfast was that nestle clusters cereal with full fat milk that was tasting rather sweet

Lunch 1.25PM

  • lunch was nice, I had some orange juice
  • some carrot sticks
  • a salami sesame seed bun, but the bun wasn't as dark a the others this week, it was also quite compact - I think next weeks will be normal looking
  • I also had a scone which I managed to crumble up everywhere

Dinner 6.30PM

  • dinner was brilliant, we had spaghetti bolognese that I put loads of lovely salt on and a fair bit of pepper
  • I also put a good deal of pesto on it that I mixed in a lot, i'm not sure if this really does much to improve the flavour but I can't help doing it
  • after I finished the spaghetti I had my bread, which was a tiger bread roll (so far we think the co-op has the best tiger bread but really want to try other kinds) I ended up dipping it in a lot of pesto and salt and pepper
  • after that I had a quite nice banana

Snacks 8.15PM+

  • this is one of the last nights of christmas sweets and chocolates, first my mum very kindly gave me some more of her stuff she got given from belgium, they were two of these stroopwafels (had to look that one up) i've had them once before, and they were just as amazing, they are kind of like butterscotch biscuits that are biscuity and chewy at the same time - its hard to really put it into words but these ones were kind of milky and gingery which was a real treat
  • I then finished off some nice fruit flavoured little hard sweet balls that came in my hello kitty money box that I got given for christmas

going to get some posts down now

sorry I haven't kept up these last few nights, I kept staying up too late

Thursday 15 January 2009

thursday's post

today I got up at about 8.15AM and woke up to find the rest of my bombay mix poured out onto the carpet which was great

Breakfast 8.20AM

  • today I had more of that nestle clusters cereal but it tasted really really sweet compared to other days and the milk was great too

Lunch 1.45PM

  • first I had a few sweets from my hello kitty money box
  • then I had some orange juice
  • some carrot sticks
  • a sesame seed bun with some salami in it, the bun was nice and dark like the others this week and just perfect
  • I also had a scone
  • and finished it off with a little bag of christmas chocolate coins which had that wonderful mixed taste, apart from one that tasted like rubber and metal

Dinner 6.30PM

  • today we had some wonderful roast potatoes which were wonderful with a lot of salt on them
  • and I also had a piece of roast chicken
  • and with that there was something my dad called a savory ragu, it was really nice because it had little bits of gherkin in, which is one of my favourite things to have
  • there was also some purple sprouting broccoli which was nice to have because I haven't tasted it in quite a while
  • I also had a very nice banana

Snacks 7.45PM+

  • my mum came home with another bag of indian nibbles so I quickly got at those, having two wonderful bowls full of the stuff
  • then I had some chocolate gingers, i'm going to check the brand because they were wonderful, not as dulled as the ginger in thorton's chocolate gingers but they weren't as juicy

wednesday's post

on wednesday I got up at about 8.30AM

Breakfast 8.35AM

  • for breakfast I had some of that nestle clusters cereal but it actually had loads more clusters in it and the milk made it taste quite a bit sweeter

Lunch 5.25PM (3.50PM was when I had a snack)

  • first I had some stuff after swimming which was wonderful, I started with a wonderful mint areo, I think they've changed the packet from when I was little, it makes it look smaller but I don't think it is
  • after that a friend very kindly bought me a twirl which was wonderful, I had actually forgotten you get two in a packet
  • then we went to buy some bombay mix which I saved for later on
  • for my actual lunch, when I got home, I had some orange juice
  • some lovely carrot sticks
  • some salami in another one of those darker colour and firmer sesame seed buns with a lot more sesame seeds on it than usual
  • I then had a scone

Dinner 6.30PM

  • dinner was wonderful, it was some savory mince that was like a bolognese thing but not tomatoey
  • on some rice
  • with a moat of peas around it which was very nice to mix up together
  • on this I put a good bit of salt
  • I also had an almost perfect banana after this

Snacks 8.15PM+

  • I had about 3 bowls of that bombay mix, its irresistible even if its not the best brand

Tuesday 13 January 2009

tuesday's post

today I got up at about 8.15AM and actually got to school bang on time

Breakfast 8.20AM

  • for breakfast I had some of that nestle clusters cereal with full fat milk, and none of it was too bad at all but there weren't many clusters and the cereal isn't that sweet

Lunch 12.00PM (and 1.10PM)

  • for lunch I started with some orange juice
  • and most of my carrot sticks
  • then later on I had some salami in another one of those sesame seed buns with an incredible amount of seeds on it
  • I also had a nice scone

Dinner 6.30PM

  • at about 5.00PM I had two white mice and a spearmint chew
  • for dinner I tried spaghetti carbonara for the first time and it was lovely, instead of bacon it had some salami in it which was wonderful and nice and thin, apparently its meant to be creamy, but it didn't have much sauce on it which I suppose is what I liked, it was like a mix of spaghetti bolognese, pasta bake and lasagna
  • there was also some shredded lettuce (or it it diced when its in those thin strips?) with a little light oily dressing stuff on it which was wonderful - I ate it first so it didn't get mixed with the hot pasta
  • after that I had a very nice banana

Snacks 7.30PM+

  • first I had a few chocolate gingers
  • and finished of the spearmint chews
  • and the white mice, which I think i've got to put in a container and not keep in the paper bag because I think they might go a bit stale

Monday 12 January 2009

monday's post

today I got up at about 7.05AM and launched my self into the wonderful world of school

Breakfast 7.10AM

  • for breakfast I had that nestle clusters cereal with my usual full fat milk, the milk was near perfect which was really refreshing because I could finish the whole bowl but now i'm starting to think the standard clusters cereal isn't as sweet as the ones with nuts in them

Lunch 1.10PM

  • for lunch I had some salami in honestly the most sesame seeded, firmest bun i've ever had, it was absolutely amazing, it was completely covered in seeds, it was one of the best things i've seen and tasted in a lunch time situation in a long time
  • I also had some orange juice
  • some carrot sticks
  • and a scone that was still very nice but tasted kind of different to my recent scones

Dinner 6.35PM

  • a bit before dinner I had two of those little coconut cake teacake things, I think as a passing snack they're really nice and kind of lemony too
  • for dinner we had sausage patties which were very nice, they didn't have that funny feeling teeth itching skin on them either
  • we also had some chips
  • some bacon
  • and a very nice piece of thick fried bread with some baked beans on it
  • after this I had a very nice banana, with only one little soft bit on it

Snacks 7.45PM+

  • throughout the night I had a few chocolate gingers which were very nice, with some of the ginger bits being a lot stronger than others
  • and a few of those little gingerbread biscuits
  • a few spearmint chews (eating a lot of different things in small quantities today, its very odd)
  • and my mum decided she wanted a pikelet, this was my perfect chance to try a pikelet with golden syrup instead of butter which worked out really well but I still think pikelets are a bit heavy

sunday's post

I got up at about 10.35AM on sunday and had some really nice stuff to eat, it reminded me of christmas

Breakfast

  • nope, I didn't have anything but I kept thinking about having one of those brilliant spearmint chews

Lunch 4.50PM (approx, not near a clock)

  • we ate so late because going round town, we found that all our normal eat places were closed so we had to go to a bigger one
  • after the disappointment of seeing both the flea market, a few other shops and even the sweet shop closed (needed to get more of those wonderful spearmint chews) I felt I needed to pull out all the stops for lunch (and there wasn't any falafel anyway) so I had a peking duck wrap, it was lovely with lots of spring onion but these are very soft, I think I should have tried a mexican chicken wrap
  • I also went for a nice big chocolate chip cookie, it was really expensive and not as good as a tesco cookie but it was still worth it

Dinner 7.15PM

  • we had roast lamb for dinner which was wonderful and warming, the lamb was perfect too
  • with that there was some roast potatoes
  • some yorkshire puddings
  • and a mix of spring greens
  • and kale, the mix of the two of them tasted a bit weird, kind of like spinach
  • on that I put a fair amount of gravy
  • and loads of wonderful mint sauce, mainly on my meat but I made sure some made it to the veg as well
  • after this I had a perfect banana
  • then my mum got out some more of her stuff that she got given from belgium, they were these little fingernail sized round biscuits that looked like amaretti biscuits but tasted like wonderfully light little bits of crunchy ginerbread with loads of different nutty, spicy flavours in little bites
  • and I tried port properly for the first time, I had about half of one of those funny little glasses worth of Warre's Warrior, it was surprisingly very nice and I liked it a lot more than any scotch i've ever had, it tasted like what wine should taste of if wine was hot - it wasn't off puttingly strong and it didn't have like a burning aftertaste, it was just hot and spicey whilst tasting like a really nice and deep red wine kind of flavour

Snacks 8.45PM+

  • I first had some of those lovely little ginger bread biscuits
  • a few very nice chocolate gingers
  • I also had my saturday lunch, which was wonderful - it was a nice slice of perfect carrot cake with no bad bits in it
  • and a fentiman's ginger beer which wasn't too muddy at all

got two exams coming up in the next 2 weeks

sadly I might fall a bit behind on the posts, but with any luck i'll be able to keep it up no problem

Saturday 10 January 2009

saturday's post

today I got up at about 9.20AM to go swimming

Breakfast

  • nah, I really don't like it on a saturday

Lunch 1.30PM (approx, not near a clock)

  • we went to the chippy so I had a very nice battered sausage, it was giant and the batter was perfect
  • I also had some very nice chips with it, but there were actually too many so I had to leave some
  • we then went to the sweetshop where I got £1 worth of white mice
  • and £1 worth of spearmint chews which are absolutely amazing and i'd fully recommend them to anyone and everyone

Dinner 6.35PM

  • for dinner we had lots of different things, one of the first things I had and continued to have throughout the meal was little pieces of lamb which were lovely, I was also asked if I wanted to finish off the smoked garlic mayonnaise and apparently i'm ruining lamb by putting garlic mayonnaise on it
  • I also had some chicken parcels, for us thats chunks of chicken wrapped in bacon which I really like, I put garlic mayonnaise on some of these too
  • there was also some bread from the deli which was nice
  • and some wonderful chips, probably the best in ages (twice a day, I feel like its my birthday)
  • there was also some salad which was lettuce
  • cucumber
  • and tomato but one bit of tomato was a bit off
  • I also had a banana, this hand is from the green grocer again and it was wonderful, no wood inside at all

Snacks 8.40PM+

  • for a snack today we had some of my mum's christmas chocolate, it was two big blocks of this belgian milk chocolate from the sweet shop, it was wonderfully creamy and long lasting and defiantly worth having again - it was also a welcome change from dark chocolate

Friday 9 January 2009

friday's post

today I got up at about 8.15AM after not enough sleep - one strange thing to note today, theres been a problem with our water, for a little it came out dirty brown and like the genius I am, I drank some without noticing

Breakfast 8.25AM

  • for breakfast I had some of that cluster cereal but I could barely get a few mouthfuls in because the milk really was off

Lunch 1.15PM

  • lunch was nice, I had some orange juice that I had very fast
  • a very nice scone
  • a sesame seed bun that was strangely soft with some of that salami with peppercorns going round it, on it
  • I also had some carrot sticks

Dinner 8.35PM

  • for dinner my dad did baguette sandwiches with some very nice mixed pork and beef mince burgers in them
  • sadly the sandwich was too big and mine fell apart so I ate it just in separate parts
  • he made a wrong, and dangerous move and put sauce on the table - something that I can never resist, so on the bread that I had on its own I put a lot of bick's hamburger relish and a little branston hot chili and jalapeno pepper relish, combined with a lot of salt and pepper
  • in the sandwich there was also some tomato slices and some lettuce, these had garlic mayonnaise on them but for some reason I couldn't resist putting a lot of relishes on these too, along with salt and pepper
  • I then got to the actual burger bits, I had these covered in the branston relish with a little bick's relish for good measure, and of course a load of salt and pepper - they were wonderful but i'm getting a lot of complaints that when food is made for the evening meal it is seasoned delicately with care, I understand that I am butchering the flavours but I don't think I mind much
  • after that I started to have a banana and I thought I could taste the seeds again, something i've been having with all the bananas on this hand but when I had a look it has actually started to have that wooden centre problem, now i'm pretty sure all the bananas on this hand must have had this problem, these were tescos bananas whereas we usually have bananas from a man at the green grocers

Snacks 8.45PM+

  • first I had some medium/little sized toblerone triangle pieces which were wonderfully sweet
  • after that I had a few thortons chocolate gingers (some of my dad's christmas chocolate, I think we're getting worryingly close to the end of the christmas chocolate)

Thursday 8 January 2009

thursday's post

today I got up at about 8.05AM and its been a very strange and interesting day for food

Breakfast 8.15AM

  • for breakfast I had that nestle cereal with loads of clusters in it, the milk was a little better this time but I still couldn't finish all of it

Lunch 1.45PM

  • for lunch I had a sesame seed bun with some salami in it
  • some carrot sticks
  • some orange juice
  • a scone
  • and after all that I slowly ate some of those lovely chocolate coins

Dinner 6.40PM

  • dinner was really interesting, for the first time in many years we had a proper premade meal (i'm not counting the wonderful fish fingers here) to see if I like them my mum bought some chicken kievs with garlic and I think it was basil inside them
  • they were from sainsburys, the meat itself was kind of wet and slithery which wasn't too nice but I did over all really enjoy them and i'm really looking forward to trying them homemade
  • with that we had some carrots
  • some broccoli
  • and what I think was potato gratin which was very nice but it always manages to stay incredibly hot and only for me for some reason
  • I also had a tiger bread roll which was nice
  • after that I had a banana, it was nice but I could still taste the seeds really clearly (something wrong with this hand, they've all been a bit iffy)

Snacks 8.15PM+

  • first I had a can of dr.pepper that was on special offer and it was amazing, I forgot how nice this stuff is, its a clear, almost creamy easy going sweet taste and I love it
  • after that I tried what i'm told were pikelets, they were quite nice but really really heavy with some butter on them, I think they could be lovely with some golden syrup on them instead of butter
  • after that I had the left over tiger bread roll

wednesday's post

ok so I got up at about 8.05AM on wednesday and later on I managed to scrape my chin swimming (manliest injury possible)

Breakfast 8.10AM

  • breakfast was that nestle cluster cereal again and it wasn't that nice at all because the milk is still really strange, I just tried to eat anything that kept away from the milk

Lunch 11.15 (see snacks for the rest)

  • because I wanted to get down to the pool, I had some of my lunch early - I had some very nice carrot sticks
  • and some orange juice

Dinner 6.35PM

  • dinner was very nice, we had sausages and mash
  • I had 3 sausages
  • some mash
  • and some kale, I haven't had kale in a while and it was very nice, its a nice refreshing vegetable
  • on that I had a load of onion gravy
  • I ended up using quite a bit of pepper because we were still on that lo salt rubbish which I can't spread evenly at all

Snacks 7.45PM+

  • first I had my salami sesame seed bun from lunch, I put some mint sauce and horseradish on it
  • then I had my scone, the bottom of it was incredibly smooth and it was brilliant
  • later on I had two very impressive biscuits that my mum got given from belgium, I think they must have been christmas biscuits, they tasted really light but still kind of mixed and fragranced - you could also taste egg quite strongly which wasn't even a bad thing, they were also very hard but not powdery. A good way to explain them would be like a less powdery version of the little sweetie bits on top of those little gem biscuits but with a much more expansive flavour

Tuesday 6 January 2009

tuesday's post

today I got up at about 7.55AM and I was going to be on time for the first time in ages but then of course, loads of trains canceled

Breakfast 8.00AM

  • for breakfast I had this kind of nice nestle cereal with loads of those clusters in it but there was something weird about the milk, it could very well be because it'll be older milk, or the cold but it made the cereal taste cold

Lunch 12.25PM

  • for lunch I had a wonderful sesame seed bun with some very nice salami in it which had some very nice peppercorns going around it
  • I also had some orange juice
  • some perfectly refreshing carrot sticks
  • and a perfect scone that wasn't too hard, and certainly not too soft
  • also a very kind friend gave me a toffee crisp bar that he didn't want, it was lovely

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner we had pork souvlaki kebab things that I usually put a bit of lemon juice on but we had them with noodles so I put too much light soy on them which turned out very nice
  • the noodles were perfect, apart from me putting so much light soy on them, they had spring onions, white onions, some red that I can only guess was pepper and some other stuff rolling about
  • after that I had one of those bananas from the same hand as the wooden banana, it tasted almost perfect, could taste the seeds a little but apart from that it was perfect

Snacks 8.15PM+

  • first I had some of that hard nougat, I don't know if i'm really so hot on it at the moment
  • I then had some haribo starmix, it is amazing how soft and wonderful the haribo fried eggs are compared to the brand that the sweet shop uses (the sweet shop ones just may have been a bit stale from how long i'd kept them though)

Monday 5 January 2009

monday's post

so I got up at about 11.05AM today after going to bed far too late (early tonight because its school tomorrow, going to make a real effort to get there on time, going to keep on my feet from when I get up to when I get to school so I can't possibly fall asleep again)

Breakfast

  • nope, didn't have any breakfast but I did have a couple of little jelly sweets from my sweet shop mix

Lunch

  • didn't have any lunch as such, but I finished off the last handful of sweets from the mix, the real surprise of the thing was a peppermint mojo - i'd never tried these before and it was incredibly special, like the perfect sweet and mint mixed, i'm going to get a bag of these in the next few weeks I think

Dinner 6.40PM

  • for dinner we had beef stew which was a welcome change, it was pieces of nice beef (none of them too irony tasting)
  • some of my mum's dumplings
  • some carrots
  • some pieces of well done soft potato (I don't really like soft potato but it was still alright)
  • and some spring greens
  • I put a fair bit of salt and pepper on everything but it was this lo-salt which is extremely frustrating because of its strong taste and fine texture, it means I always put too much on because I can't get a mild even coating with the bloody stuff
  • after that I started to have a banana but after half a finger tip amount I noticed it had blue bruising on it, snapping it in half I found that the inside was like a kind of red wood kind of thing, mostly hollow too - this is the second banana i've ever had like this and i'm very interested in finding out what causes it. I'm thinking it must be some kind of disease to the banana plant, maybe something to do with insects using the plants to hatch their young? I don't know, i'm going to read up on it

Snacks 8.00PM+

  • I had a bit of a snack blow out, this being my last night of freedom before school, I started with some lovely chocolate coins, I love these so much because the chocolate changes taste so much with every coin but still remains kind of nutty and creamy
  • we then had some of my christmas green and blacks chocolate, which was orange with rocks of crunchy gingerbread in it - this was wonderful, I usually dislike chocolate with bits in but when the dark orange chocolate has melted away the gingerbread remains crunchy to eat which is a wonderful treat

Sunday 4 January 2009

sunday's post

I got up at about 2.20PM today, and i've had a down, anxious day because I (can't stop thinking about going back to school

Breakfast

  • nah, too late for that

Lunch

  • nope, I didn't have anything apart form a few of those christmas marshmallows when I was downstairs - I really should have had something because I felt terrible by dinner time

Dinner 7.15PM

  • dinner was very nice, we had roast beef which was cooked perfectly
  • there was also roast potatoes
  • yorkshire puddings
  • brussel sprouts - I don't really mind these much anymore
  • cabbage
  • and broccoli
  • on top of a lot of the meal I put a load of horseradish, giving my self many shocks and making myself wince and my eyes water quite a few times, but I still think it was worth it
  • I also put a fair bit of gravy on everything
  • not as much salt as usual today (mainly because we ran out) and next to no pepper
  • I also had a strange banana after all this, it was very odd, I could taste the seeds

Snacks 8.35PM+

  • first I started with a couple of those marshmallows, which finished the bag, I still think they were perfect
  • we then had a little bowl each of the chocolates my grandma gave us, they were all very odd, especially one that seemed to mix lemon curd, a chocolate ginger and something chewy all into one - there was one very good one, one of the best chocolates i've had in months, a white one with pink speckles, it was heaven. hard to describe but it was perfect
  • then I had just a few of the sweets from a sweet mix I got from the sweet shop before christmas, they're mostly alright but a few of lost a bit of their flavour

Saturday 3 January 2009

i'm really not into peanuts at the moment

I feel like this dog who also doesn't like peanuts

saturday's post

today I got up at about 11.15, I watched a thing on the history channel about the dark ages today and I really enjoyed it

Breakfast

  • nah, I didn't have anything for breakfast, but I kept at those chocolate orange little segments

Lunch 3.35PM

  • before lunch I had a few more of those orange segments
  • for my actual lunch I had what the deli calls a yumyum, which is what I think a churro is, it was really nice with a load of sugar on it
  • with that I had a wonderful fentiman's lemonade that I really rushed drinking

Dinner 6.30PM

  • dinner was really nice, we had belly pork with bits of lemon on the side
  • and some bits of battered chicken pieces, my dad tried making his own batter without using one of the packet mixes today, I think it was much less sickly but he thinks he can't get the deep fryer to go hot enough
  • with that we had some lemon slices and a little bowl of tescos garlic mayonnaise which was wonderful to have
  • there was also some very nice chips
  • and some bread from the deli (I had two pieces, which is probably a full slice)
  • I also had some salad which was very nice, it was lettuce
  • tomato
  • and cucumber
  • I forgot to have a banana after that (thats the problem with not eating in the kitchen)

Snacks 9.20PM+

  • after I found out my dad had finished off the chocolate orange slices that I had planned to share with him, I had another couple of those chocolates from holland
  • then a bit later on we had some pistachios which were wonderful but you get very few in a packet
  • then we had some peanuts but they weren't really too nice - I think i've gone off peanuts now, they tasted too much like actual peas (I don't even know what they have to do with peas, its probably just my mind linking names and tastes together)
  • I then got out some perfect marshmallows, shaped like christmas trees and some strange white things that are probably snowmen or polar bears, they were nice and big
  • after that I had two glasses (one can) of boddingtons bitter, it was even worse than it was a few days ago and I really can't recommend it at all, its kind of like bad water

friday's post

on friday I got up at about 8.40AM so I could go swimming with a friend nice and early

Breakfast

  • nah, I didn't have anything for breakfast because I wanted to get out nice and early

Lunch 12.25 (approx, not near a clock)

  • we both agreed we were feeling faint so we went to the chippy, I had battered sausage and chips, it was lovely and i'm convinced that battered sausage is one of my new favourite foods
  • a few hours afterwards I was in one of the pound shops where I got some sweets called toasted tea cakes, I had no idea what they were and when I tried them I found out that they were little coconut cakes, i'm really not sure if I like them

Dinner 7.20PM

  • I was coming back from the cinema, expecting to just eat something in front of the TV but my mum had some work to do so we ended up eating together at 7.20, she did a wonderful pasta bake - most of the pasta bakes we have use a mix of pork and beef mince
  • there was also a big bowl of salad which had some lettuce
  • some tomato chunks
  • some bits of cucumber
  • some spring onion, and other little things
  • I also had a slightly funny tasting banana

Snacks 8.50PM+

  • first I had one of the chocolates from holland that my mum's friend sent her, it was like a little chocolate tube, with a maybe slightly alcoholy taste to it, with a white vanilla centre, and a seed topping it - this was all very interesting and kind of odd to eat because the taste didn't work in my mouth in the same way a bog standard chocolate would, it was really impressive like that but I don't know if i'm into the actual taste
  • after that I had the spare portion of pasta bake which was wonderful because it had firmed up a bit
  • then I shared out a nice very big tub of these terrys chocolate orange segments, you get dark chocolate orange pieces, milk, honeycomb, a crunchy one (rice crispies) and a crispy one (corn flakes) they are all wonderful but the crispy and crunchy ones are defiantly the best
  • I also tried another one of those chocolates, now instead of white chocolate it had milk chocolate in a dark chocolate tower, with some sesame seeds on top of it - it was interesting again but I think I need to 'sample' them more if you know what I mean

Thursday 1 January 2009

thursday's post

on thursday I got up at about 12.20PM, today we had a strangely long (maybe 3 hours long) power cut

Breakfast

  • nothing really considering it was so late but when I came down I had a few of those little amaretti biscuits which were very nice

Lunch

  • nope, I didn't have any lunch, I was holding out for the power cut carrying on so we could have some kind of feast when the food started to go funny in the freezer (didn't happen)
  • a bit after the power came on me and my dad went down to the shops to buy some beer for tonight though

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner we had a roast dinner (i'm told you're meant to have a roast on new years day but i've never heard of that before (I thought it was burns night soon, I hope we don't have haggis))
  • we had roast pork, which was a wonderful treat
  • with that we had yorkshire puddings
  • roast potatoes
  • broccoli
  • peas
  • and some really nice and sweet carrots
  • we also had some crackling with the meat
  • on my pork I put quite a bit of crab apple jelly
  • and a bit less gravy than I normally would (I know it brings out the flavours if you have less, but I do love gravy)

Snacks 7.50PM+

  • first my mum gave us all little bowls of some chocolate from the market from my grandma - it was in one of those mixed bags where things can just be mishaped or the flavours might be a bit off or mixed - lucky for me, the flavour that had gone into all of them was an incredibly sweet 'red' flavour from creamy heart shaped chocolates
  • after that I got out my haribo jelly babies - I didn't even know if I liked jelly babies but these were amazing, its brilliant to crack up the shell on them, and they aren't greasy which I like, also all the flavours make sense apart from green, whats green?
  • I also had two glasses of boddingtons bitter, which is a cans worth - this is the first time i've tried boddingtons and I don't think i'll really go for it over other beers, its head stays with it constantly which is kind of horrid and gets in the way of a beer thats kind of smooth and drinkable

I need to be up at 8 tomorrow so I should go to bed now

wednesday's post

so on wednesday I got up at about 11.15AM, a bit late because I was so tired

Breakfast

  • nah, I didn't have any actual breakfast but I did have one of those funny market biscuits on my way out of the house - it made me feel sick, I don't even really like these biscuits and I don't know why I keep on eating them

Lunch

  • a bit after lunch time I had a cola wham bar, apart from it sticking to my teeth it was really nice and tangy and had a liquorishy aftertaste, I think I really should have had a humus wrap or something because I felt really faint again by the end of my day out

Dinner 7.05PM

  • i'm noting it in the dinner section not the lunch, but when I got home at about half 5, I had really quite a few of those strange biscuits because I was just that hungry
  • dinner was really nice, my mum made meatloaf which I love
  • we also had mashed potato, she makes it very different to my dad which i'm not used to, its kind of looser - I don't know if this is worst or anything but still
  • we also had wonderful gravy, I tried not to put too much on though
  • there was also carrots
  • and peas
  • in the end of it my mum couldn't finish her meatloaf so she gave some of it to me
  • I finally had a banana too, it took me ages to eat

Snacks 7.55PM+

  • first we had some very special hotel chocolat chocolates that my mum had been given, I tried a chocolate brownie one first, it was nothing like a chocolate brownie but still very nice - I think one thing about them is they're very nice to look at
  • I also got out my jelly belly jelly beans, now they're wonderful - I think I love all flavours apart form the pear ones. My favourite ones have to be any blue ones, popcorn and bubblegum
  • edit - god, i've just forgot something crucial, sorry, I also got out some very tiny bite size amaretti biscuits, they were strangely nice, kind of like biting into the crunchiest more together little puffs of powder ever
