thursday's post

On thursday I got up at about 1.00PM

Breakfast

  • nope, didn't have anything
Lunch 3.30PM

  • for lunch I had some pasta shells with
  • some carrots
  • and some peas, all with pesto on it
Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner I had spaghetti bolognese which was lovely, I put a small amount of pepper on it, but then the pepper ran out so I got out some chilli flakes to put on it (I also put on a fair bit of salt) maybe this was a mistake because it overpowered the meal but it was still nice
  • after that I had a very nice banana, these are from the usual green grocer instead of asda and they are wonderful
Snacks 8.40PM

  • for a snack we had some stroopwafels, these were wonderful, they were from aldi - aldi ones don't have a great butterscotch kind of taste about them but they are much bigger than other stroopwafels

Friday 27 February 2009

wednesday's post

on wednesday I got up at about 1.00PM

Breakfast

  • nope, I didn't have anything, at the moment I just want sleep in the morning

Lunch 3.00PM

  • for lunch I went back to having a lovely cooked lunch which was some pasta shells
  • with some peas
  • and carrots with some pesto on it which I like a lot

Dinner 6.40PM

  • for dinner I tried a few new things, or just things I hadn't had in a while - it was all on one plate, on the left there was pilau rice made a funny yellow colour with turmeric, it had a nice really strange just slightly different taste to normal rice that i'm not used to
  • with that in the middle of the plate there was some chicken like a kebab, under that there was some tomato slices which I ate first, the chicken was wonderful, I put a lot of sweet chili sauce on it
  • on the right of the plate there was some crispy seaweed, sadly I didn't really like this, it was just so overpowering, i'm not even sure what was really overpowering but I generally didn't like the flavour or how heavy and oily it was (it wasn't really oily though, its hard to explain)
  • after that I had a banana

Snacks 10.20PM

  • I had some toast, it was very nice, I had one piece cut in half with some sweet chili sauce on it

tuesday's post, pancake day

on tuesday I got up at about 1PM (all times will be estimates until I can catch up fully)

Breakfast

  • nope I didn't have anything for breakfast

Lunch 2.45PM

  • for lunch I had my normal school lunch, sadly it was still influenced by the smell in the fridge
  • I had my rice which was kind of ok
  • after that I tried to have some orange juice but I couldn't stomach the smell so I didn't have any
  • I had a bite of the scone but it tasted very malty which was a shame, its not really anyones fault

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner we had some lamb, it was kind of sweet and had some onions and mushrooms on top of it in a kind of sweet oily sauce which was nice
  • with that there was some mash potato
  • and some cabbage, I started to eat the cabbage first so I could spread out the meat and mix the onions with the mash, but I started to mix the mash with the cabbage which was perfect
  • after that my mum made some pancakes - she makes them different to me, I tend to try and make american type pancakes (I suppose I do, i'm never sure) which I make quite small and thick using butter in the pan - she makes what I think of as english pancakes, thin speckled things that take loads of flavours really well, she cooks them using oil, this makes them lovely and crisp on one side, and kind of soft but not gooey on another side, they were wonderful, I had loads of sugar on most of mine, and tried a bit of lemon juice on a couple of them but I don't think it is for me

Snacks 9.20PM

  • for a snack I had some jelly sweets from the natural confectionery company and they were brilliant, all gummy stuff, some dinosaurs, maybe snakes too - they are wonderful because they are actually very soft and gummy, they aren't hard and waxy and horrible, really looking forward to having these again

going to be catching up soon hopefully

strangley i'm still not better, but I am on the mend - i'm going to be getting a post done now and hopefully a few more over the weekend

edit: getting as much written as I can in drafts, then hopefully I can do some kind of bulk post

Wednesday 25 February 2009

monday's post

on monday I got up at about 11.30AM

Breakfast

  • nope I didn't have anything, just wanted to lie down

Lunch 1.30PM (approx, really can't remember so back now)

  • for lunch I had my normal lunch that my mum had very kindly made for me, it was first some rice, peas and carrots but the problem with the whole thing that some vegetable was rotting in the fridge, and my lunch seemed to have got most of the smell in its containers, especially the plastic juice box, so I replaced the spoon with a proper metal one and the rice didn't taste so bad
  • I then had the scone, the foil had some of the smell on it which I really didn't like, the whole thing tasted kind of malty and not very enjoyable anyway
  • I had the juice as fast as I could, holding the box so close to my nose was horrible, i'm going to change lunches now I think

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner we had some sausage patties, these were wonderful, slightly bigger than normal
  • with some fried bread, with some beans on top of them ,i put some salt and pepper on this (same on the patties)
  • I also had some bacon, which was nice and crispy, I put pepper on this
  • there was also some chips which were very nice, they were with the sweeter potatoes
  • after that I had the last of the pineapple, it was going a bit at this point, still nice but not perfect

Snacks 8.10PM

  • first we had some of the chocolate and ginger bread pieces green and blacks stuff which was wonderful as always
  • then we finished off the woolworths dark chocolate which was very nice

Tuesday 24 February 2009

sunday's post

on sunday I got up at about 11.30AM but i'm not too sure on this one

Breakfast

  • nope I didn't have anything on sunday

Lunch 2.15PM

  • for lunch I had some pasta shells
  • with peas
  • and carrots with pesto on all of it, this is still very nice because its just a treat having a hot lunch

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner we had roast chicken, which was perfect, on the side of mine was a bit of skin which I always like (we've started eating in the kitchen instead of the dining room as well)
  • with that there was roast potatoes, I had one extra that my mum couldn't finish
  • there was also yorkshire puddings
  • and some broccoli
  • carrots
  • and a few brussel sprouts
  • I put a fair bit of gravy on everything, and also a lot of bread sauce on nearly everything - i'm really warming to bread sauce
  • after that I had a very nice slice of pineapple, or it may have been one starting to go bad, I can't remember if it was sunday or monday for that

Snacks 8.20PM+

  • we started on the woolworths dark chocolate
  • then my mum gave us some of that lovely orangey green and blacks with gingerbread pieces in which was absolutely wonderful

saturday's post

on saturday I got up at about 11.25AM

Breakfast

  • nope I didn't have anything

Lunch 2.30PM

  • for lunch I had a hot cross bun from the deli, it was amazing and giant, with perfect currants and a lovely taste, i'm looking forward to having another soon
  • with that I had a fentiman's lemonade which was lovely

Dinner 6.40PM

  • for dinner we had spare ribs which were more done than usual but thats not really negative
  • some crispy belly pork in its usual sweet chili lime kind of sauce which I always like
  • some lettuce in a cup
  • some chips using a new kind of potato that is very sweet but doesn't crisp up very well
  • I had about 3 slices of deli bread and there was also
  • a salad which was tomato and bits of onion in the usual oily dressing but with little bits of crispy bacon in too which was lovely
  • after that I had a slice of pineapple which really was lovely, very fresh

Snacks 8.30PM+

  • for a snack we had that woolworths chocolate which was still lovely and weirdly grainy

Monday 23 February 2009

friday's post

on friday I got up at about 10.20AM

Breakfast

  • nope, I didn't have anything

Lunch 1.40PM

  • for lunch I had some pasta shells
  • with peas
  • and carrots, with pesto on all of it which was nice

Dinner 6.50PM

  • for dinner we had little slightly spicy chicken wings and stuff, with them there was chili sauce and a little bowl of mint raita which was wonderful, I overdid it on both sauces bit it was still nice
  • with that there was some lettuce
  • some tomato, cucumber and onions in a salad type thing with some oily dressing in a bowl
  • some little bits of mini baguettes
  • some wonderful big oven chips that started out as roast potatoes, they were very nice
  • I then had a banana

Snacks 8.25PM+

  • for a snack we had woolworths dark chocolate that my mum must have got, its very special, a very weird taste, kind of gritty and grainy, really easy to break and lovely to eat
  • edit: before that I had a bottle of wychwood goliath ale which is always lovely

going to be catching up pretty soon sorry

I'm not getting better as fast as I thought I would but i've started taking physical notes on the days to type up because i'm getting so behind - so it will all be updated fully at some point.

Saturday 21 February 2009

thursday's post

on thursday I got up at about 5.40AM to go to london on the bus

Breakfast 6.50AM (approx, not near a clock)

  • we went to the bus station's shop to have something to eat, I decided I wanted something like cereal so I had an Alpen strawberry and yoghurt bar, this was very nice, but kind of funny tasting, like instead of sugar/oats/whatever to bind it together, they'd used a strange sweet mixture of sugar and honey which tasted odd

Lunch 2.20PM (approx, not near a clock)

  • for lunch I had a very nice sandwich, which was ham and a bit of english mustard in tiger bread, I really like tiger bread kind of stale in a sandwich because it becomes really hearty and satisfying, i'm never sure about ham though
  • with that I had some wonderful mini picnic eggs from iceland
  • and a packet of cheese and onion mccoy crisps, these are nicer than walkers for the fact that thy are thicker and seem less greasy

Dinner 8.55PM (earlier snack on the coach was probably about 6.30PM)

  • on the coach I had a packet of cheese and onion mccoy crisps which hit the spot considering the long journey
  • and a couple of very nice mini picnic eggs
  • when we got home, my mum had done us a curry which I was very happy to have, it was white rice
  • with the normal pataks chicken curry with the usual onions, mushrooms and stuff in it which was all wonderful and very filling
  • after that I had a banana

Snacks

  • nope, I could have had some chocolate but sadly I was feeling ill

test

test post

wednesday's post

on wednesday I got up at about 10.25AM, I ended up getting on with some drawing and then getting an early night

Breakfast

  • nope, I didn't have anything

Lunch

  • I know I should have done, but I didn't have anything again, I don't like doing this because I really lose my focus when I get to about 4-5PM

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner we had something almost like a chicken stew, it was white rice
  • with some chicken, some onions, mushrooms and some other little things on it, it was very nice and not too strong at all, I put just a little salt on it but not too much at all, I accidentally put a little pepper on it
  • there was also some kale on my plate, I really like kale, I tried to eat them together, but I ended up trying to eat all the kale quickly so I could spread out the rice properly
  • after that I had a banana, it wasn't amazing but it wasn't terrible either

Snacks 8.25PM+

  • had some of my dad's valentine chocolates (correction for earlier posts when i've got time, previously mentioned chocolates were actually my mum's) they came in a heart box, which whilst looking wonderful meant less chocolate - what there was in the box was very nice though, especially the fruit flavoured and soft centred ones

going to start getting through the posts

sorry about the delay, not been feeling very well, but I should be going through the posts today and tomorrow

I may need to edit them a bit just in case I miss anything but it should be fine

Wednesday 18 February 2009

tuesday's post

on tuesday I got up at about 11.10AM and tried to get a good bit of work done

Breakfast

  • I didn't have a set meal but I did have a few of those halva wafers, and I still can't work out if I like them - I don't think i'd buy them again but if I was offered, I don't think I could resist trying them again

Lunch 1.25PM

  • for lunch I had some pasta shells with some
  • peas
  • and carrots with pesto on all of it, it was wonderful and kept me going, I really like having a hot lunch instead of a funny cold sandwich

Dinner 6.35PM

  • for dinner my dad did some chicken with some onions and mushrooms on top of it, he intended for us to put some sweet chili sauce on top of the chicken but I went a bit far and drowned the chicken in the stuff, and I don't regret it
  • there was also some kale, I ate the kale first with a bit of salt and a little pepper on it (I ate it first so it wouldn't get much sweet chili sauce on it) I like kale, I think its all the positive points of cabbage and spinach without any of the negatives
  • I also had a baked potato, but I couldn't really control my self with that either and I ended up putting loads of sweet chili sauce on it, really too much (don't regret it again) so my eyes started to water and my nose started to run, I also put a bit of salt and pepper on this too
  • after all this I had a very nice banana, its one of asda's bananas which aren't bad at all, not up to the standard of the ones we get at the local shops but much much better than anything tesco has ever delivered

Snacks 8.10PM+

  • first we started off with finishing the vanilla wafers, I tried to go slowly on these but they really are lovely
  • my mum decided that we shouldn't have piklets hanging around too long, so we had some of those (I can't remember when she bought them) I had 3, they were very nice and I had golden syrup on them - they tasted kind of smokey, almost like curry powder which was strange but nice
  • after that I had two stroopwafels because my mum got some as a present and they were absolutely amazing as always, they also tasted kind of like curry powder but I kind of liked this for some reason

Tuesday 17 February 2009

I really will catch up tomorrow

sorry about this, been a bit bogged down, i'm going to london on thursday so that day will be to catch up too

monday's post, finally figured out what the polish wafers were

today I got up at about about 9.10AM to go charity shopping and look for more polish snacks, I didn't have any luck at the charity shops but I found a lot more polish things which was wonderful, I later went out which was wonderful too

Breakfast

  • nope I didn't have anything for breakfast because I wanted to get out of the house quickly

Lunch

  • we went to subway for lunch, I really wanted to ask for a vegetable patty (seems the most strange and interesting thing to try) but I was intimidated by the whole process and shop its self again so I just went for the 3 cookies for 99p thing, I wanted one of those double chocolate chip ones or whatever (the black cookies) but the man put the wrong one in the bag, he was quite ready to put the right one in the bag for me but I for some reason rolled over and accepted the white chocolate and nuts cookie whilst my friend had the one I really wanted - I really really really hate subway, i've got to man up when I go in there, I went in wanting a strange and complex sub with maybe a cookie for pudding, and I came out with a cookie that not even a man crippled with chocolate fueled anxiety would pick

Dinner 6.45PM

  • dinner was lovely, for ages my dad has been trying to perfect his pork satay sticks, and I really think these were lovely, instead of cooking the pork on their sticks with the coating already on them, he put it in a separate little bowl, it was smooth peanut butter and some other stuff like soy sauce, sweet chili sauce and lemon juice which was all very nice and I enjoyed spreading it on
  • on the plate he pit a slice of lemon, I also used this on the sticks
  • there were also some pieces of lettuce on my plate, I ate these first so hot and cold didn't touch though
  • there was also some garlic naan bread, on nearly every piece I put on as much of the sauce as I could evenly spread
  • after this I had a very nice banana

Snacks 7.40PM+

  • I started with the stuff we got at a polish shop earlier in the day, more of those polish wafers, tesco only offers the vanilla ones which is a bit annoying, the polish place has an amazing range though, and i'll be going back there very soon I think - I bought plain/dark chocolate wafers (when I say a flavour it means the pastey/creamy stuff inside them was a certain flavour, the wafers are all one flavour) which were amazing, the chocolate tastes like an improved american chocolate, plain and not incredibly sweet when you first bite into it, cocoa flavoured (the actual flavour of the wafer) then leaving you with an irresistible sweet flavour, of course we finished the whole packet in one night
  • this next one is very odd, we also got some mysterious purple packaged wafers, being too embarrassed to ask what the packaging meant, I just hoped it wasn't meat paste inside them - I now exactly what the paste was but i'll describe it by what I felt on monday - its kind of dulled in colour, kind of like mushed up tuna, and it has an incredibly weird taste, like its a punishment in the wafer world, like I have to learn to love it - i'm thinking this because when you first bite into it, it tasted like some kind of seed or something you'd use to scent a room, then you feel like you've bitten into some kind of fragrant spice or even some lovely sweet peas, and after that the whole thing tastes very sweet - i'm still not really sure if I like them at all, I kept having them to try and identify the taste but I just felt like I was eating flowers

---

after some googling i've found that the wafers are actually halva flavour, which I think (again guessing from google) is a sweet usually made from sesame seeds with sugar/honey, I suppose this explains the unusual and kind of pea like sweetness but it still doesn't make me like them

sunday's post

on sunday I got up at about 3.05PM and had quite a nice relaxed day

Breakfast

  • nah, I didn't have anything

Lunch

  • I didn't have any kind of meal, but I did have a few of the vanilla polish wafers which were absolutely lovely

Dinner 6.30PM

  • for dinner we had roast pork, and it was wonderful, really interesting pork, much heavier than usual with incredibly flavourful fat, kind of full meaty distinctive flavour - with this I had a fair bit of crab apple jelly, but not as much as the last time I had roast pork
  • with that I had some crackling which is always nice
  • there was also some roast potatoes
  • some yorkshire puddings
  • and some peas which I really can't get enough of with a good bit of gravy
  • with some carrots
  • and cabbage
  • on all of this I put quite a bit of gravy, maybe even a bit too much but it was very nice gravy
  • after that I had a very good banana

Snacks 5.30PM+

  • tonight we finished off my dad's valentines day chocolate from thortones which were all very nice, but especially the ones with that chocolate creamy praline stuff inside them
  • at the moment we have loads of snacks so it feels like christmas, I keep trying to get through loads each night but I don't like feeling full so I usually stop at that point

Sunday 15 February 2009

sorry at the missing day

i'll catch up tomorrow, just need to sit down and do it

saturday's post

on saturday I got up at about 10.35AM and went to town

Breakfast

  • nope, I didn't have anything

Lunch 2.00PM (approx, not near a clock)

  • today I tried something different from eat today, a mexican chicken wrap, and I really don't think i'd have it again - the chicken wasn't terrible, it was alright, better than subways, the sweetcorn in it was nice, I even liked the beans in it and I don't usually like anything like lentils but then I got to a giant lump of sauceless salad, it was that bitter strong tasting lettuce that i'm just not into, then I tasted something that was incredibly cheesey which sadly really put me off
  • a while after that we went and got some sarsaparilla, mine wasn't very fizzy but it was still wonderful
  • after that we went to tesco and got a vanilla slice each, and it really was wonderful - its like they take the soft wonderful sticky pastry base from a danish and make it into some kind of well, having some kind of vanilla cream on the inside of the pastry, then some kind of incredibly sweet vanilla custard in the middle of the well which was perfect, and I don't even like custard (i'm really enjoying baked stuff from tescos)

Dinner 6.40PM

  • dinner was wonderful, my dad did some rare cooked steak, cut up into pieces showing the lovely colour in the middle, on top of some red peppers and onions which were perfect, I didn't add any salt or pepper and it was still lovely
  • with that on my plate there were a few lettuce leaves, I ate these first so I could eat the rest without hot and cold clashing
  • there were also some salt and pepper kettle chips which were very nice
  • and I also had two pieces of bread from the deli, one of them I had without any salt and pepper, and on my other one I put a little salt and pepper on it
  • I had one of those little glasses of warre's warrior port as well, I quite like this, as i've said before, its like a warm left out wine that somehow got better
  • I then had a very nice banana

Snacks 8.35PM+

  • first I had a small tube of jelly bean factory jelly beans which were wonderful, maybe not as easy to tell what the flavours were as they are with jelly belly jelly beans, but these taste a load better generally
  • after that I had a bowl of wonderful bombay mix and a little bit of another mix, it all tasted wonderful and had a more varied taste than normal mixes and also had a lot of lentil sugar
  • I then had a few of those polish crunchy chewy things, they're called Jutrzenka Jezyki, but i'll post more about them later
  • I then had 4 glasses, two cans worth of banks mild, it was lovely and I still think banks is the nicest cheaper drinkable beer
  • I then had one of my dad's valentine chocolates from thorntones (I didn't get him them, don't worry, my mum did) which was very nice but thorntones generally is

Saturday 14 February 2009

friday's post

on friday I got up at about 8.15AM and later I went to an event with something to do with youth elections with a friend

Breakfast 8.20AM

  • I couldn't tell you exactly what the cereal is called, but its a special K one with some freeze dried blackcurrants, blackberries and I think blueberries in it but I never seem to get a full bowl with all these different fruits in it - it was very nice, much sweeter and it tasted a load better than just special K flakes that can be a bit of a trial to eat

Lunch 1.10PM (second bit was approx 5.40PM)

  • I started with some asda smart price orange juice, and it was wonderful, its hard to describe the taste, its like they take all the appealing factors from tropical fruit juice but keep a strong orange juice flavour without it being acidy, i'm looking forward to having this more often
  • I then had some carrot sticks which were nice but a bit thickly cut
  • after that I tried to have my rice, which looked lovely but I didn't have a spoon
  • after that I had two little brownies which were heaven, I tried to save them but I couldn't and I ended up eating them really quickly
  • when I got home, I had some wonderful strawberry chocolate buttons from ireland that my mum got as a present, they taste wonderful albeit overly sweet, they are a nice pink colour too

  • after this, at the youth parliment thing I had some little cakes they were offering, I had a mini cream eclair which was nice, but they aren't really my thing
  • I also had a little, and I mean very little, triangle of strange chocolate cake, very sticky and not as sweet as it looked - it was still nice though, like a thin layer of actual cake, then loads of chocolate related cream and stuff, and a chocolate curl which was nice, I then walked around town with chocolate on my lips for about an hour (I told you it was sticky)
  • I bought some more of those polish snacks on the way home, I got these about half palm sized biscuits which taste absolutely amazing (I will post more on these later) they were chocolate coated, inside you got a layer of crispy biscuit, chewy biscuit, then a combination of nuts, crispy little bits and raisins all in one biscuit and none of the raisins were bad and gritty either, these really are special

Dinner 7.35PM

  • for dinner we had meatloaf, there was gravy, it was a lot thinner than usual but still alright - I put a little salt on the meatloaf and without thinking, a bit of pepper too
  • with that there was some mashed potatoes, my mum kept saying she made them lumpy but I thought they were very nice, I put a fair bit of salt on these but not a great deal of pepper
  • also we had some cabbage which was nice with a fair bit of salt and pepper on it
  • after that I had a very fresh tasting banana

Snacks 8.40PM+

  • I finished off the bag of those strawberry buttons, some of them tasted a bit rich and sharp but the aftertaste did really taste like strawberries which was wonderful

Thursday 12 February 2009

thursday's post

I got up at about 9.50AM today, I was feeling really rough and tired for some reason

Breakfast 10.00AM

  • for breakfast I had special K flakes, they were alright but the milk tasted kind of off sadly, so I couldn't finish them

Lunch 1.50PM

  • for lunch I had rice, peas and carrots in the new smaller container - they were absolutely perfect, very fresh, almost like it had just been cooked
  • I also had some spar orange juice, which wasn't too bad at all
  • then two pieces of brownie, they were perfect and I got a lot of cherries in them, I kept trying to savour them but I couldn't and I ended up eating them very quickly

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner I had a lamb chop, but the butcher hadn't trimmed it (its a shame, this has never happened before) and that left a load of gristle and a bit of bone left on the meat, so a lot of it was quite tough until I discovered the first bit of bone, then I just cut around a lot of it
  • with that I had some little mushroom bits with some onions which were lovely and not too strong because the onions were nice and small
  • I also had loads of peas which I love, I mixed a bit of the mushroom stuff with the peas - I put a tiny bit of salt on the meat, a little on the mushrooms, a reasonable amount on the peas and some pepper on the peas too
  • there were also some chips, which were wonderful, i'm told this is because they are the new season potatoes (i've actually forgotten what the potatoes are called)
  • I then had a very nice banana

Snacks

  • nah, nothing tonight, I will probably be getting something on saturday though

Wednesday 11 February 2009

wednesday's post

today I got up at about 8.40AM and went swimming, it was lovely

Breakfast 8.45AM

  • for breakfast I had special K flakes with full fat milk, the milk was very nice today

Lunch 3.15PM

  • I had my lunch when I got back, it was some rice with peas and carrots which was very nice, it was a smaller portion before that suited me a lot better, it was also in a little pot instead of being in a tub which I like more because it seems more special
  • I also had some spar orange juice which was alright
  • my mum put some of the brownies that she made yesterday in my lunch box for me which was lovely of her - they were perfect, she makes them so they have a very thin kind of crunchy top, then you get to a layer of dark chocolate and a bit of cherry if you're lucky, then a cakey bit then the proper chocolately kind of almost gooey brownie bit which is heaven

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner I had one piece of tandoori chicken which was very nice, I didn't put any salt or pepper on it, I tried to put some lemon juice on it but I couldn't get much out of the slice which was really frustrating
  • I also had two other little pieces of chicken that just had a few herbs on them which was nice too - I got a bit more lemon on these
  • there was also some garlic naan bread, I put a lot of salt and pepper on these, and maybe even a bit too much salt on one piece but it was still nice
  • there was also some salad, I had two leaves of iceberg lettuce from asda which was alright I suppose, not bad at all
  • some tomato slices with salt, pepper and oil on them, this is the first time i've ever tried asda tomatoes and I don't really like them as much as tescos ones, they are too juicy which leaves them with no flavour
  • and some cucumber from asda which wasn't amazing
  • I then had a banana which I really enjoyed, a few bad bits but apart from that it was alright

Snacks 8.15PM+

  • for a snack I had some of the brownies which were amazing, I have a hard time controlling my self with brownies but at the same time, I see no need to control my self at all

Tuesday 10 February 2009

tuesday's post

I got up at about 9.40AM today and was in a bit of a foul mood because it wasn't a snow day

Breakfast 9.45AM

  • for breakfast I had some special k flakes with full fat milk but the milk tasted like warm water so I didn't finish the cereal

Lunch 1.10PM

  • for lunch I had some orange juice
  • some carrot sticks, with one of them tasting really strange, kind of like perfume and soap but the rest were nice
  • today I had some ham in a sesame seed bun with some mustard on the ham, I had this because my dad bought it to have at london but its actually next week we go to london, so I had the ham for lunch today - it was quite nice, but theres something i've never really liked about cold meat apart from salami, something that makes it a bit difficult to swallow
  • I also had one of those flatter scones, which was very nice

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner we had spaghetti bolognese, my dad was near the end of the packet of spaghetti so I got a lot more than usual - I put a fair bit of salt on it and a bit of pesto, it was very nice but extremely filling as well - if i'm honest, i'm still full from it now and i'm not really too used to that feeling
  • there was also some garlic bread, it was very nice made out of those little mini-baguettes you can get, it wasn't flakey at all which I like
  • I then had a very nice banana

Snacks 8.35PM+

  • my mum was making some brownies for work today, so I went to see how they were doing and 'found' the bowl to 'help clean' so I had a go at that, it was lovely, very rich and chocolatey
  • after that we had a little of the left over chocolate which was lovely, it was sainsburys belgian dark chocolate I think, but i'm not too sure - it was a bit like a more straight forward bournville

monday's post

today I got up at about 8.35AM and went to school, but its probably going to be a snow day tomorrow

Breakfast 8.40AM

  • for breakfast I had some special k flakes with full fat milk which were nice

Lunch 1.15PM

  • for lunch I started with a nice squashed scone
  • some orange juice from spar that tasted kind of like a warm bad orange, but still kind of nice to drink
  • and some rice with peas and carrots in it, this was very nice but there was too much for me to have at school so I only had about half of it

Dinner 6.40PM

  • for dinner I had griddled chicken, which was wonderful, nice and crispy and not greasy - I put just a little salt on this, barely any
  • I also had some roast potatoes, I put quite a bit of salt and pepper on these
  • there was also some tomato salad which was tomato slices and bits of onion in an oily dressing which was nice
  • I then had the last piece of that lovely plum pudding from last night, it was perfect even after a day
  • then I had a near perfect banana

Snacks 8.05PM+

  • tonight I had some of those polish wafer biscuits, we had the whole packet because they were just irresistible, I really need to get some more and take some photos of them for the blog because they really were amazing - the problem is my dad likes them as much as me so they don't last very long at all

Sunday 8 February 2009

sunday's post

today I got up at about 11.15AM and went out, it was a good day but i'm still feeling a tad under the weather

Breakfast

  • nope, I didn't have anything for breakfast

Lunch 1.35PM (approx, not near clock)

  • for lunch we went to eat, I managed to get the last falafel wrap which was brilliant - it seemed to have a bit more sauce than usual which suits me
  • after that we went to tesco and had a look in the international section and got some stuff, one of the things we got was some polish wafer biscuit things, and they're absolutely amazing double layered vanilla wafers, a whole packet for only 55p - I had about 3-4 wafers after lunch

Dinner 6.45PM

  • dinner was roast lamb which was very nice, I put a fair bit of mint sauce on this
  • with that we had some nice roast potatoes, I ended up putting just a little mint sauce on these
  • I also had some yorkshire puddings, my mum also gave me one of hers, I don't think there was much mint sauce on these at all
  • with that there were a lot of carrots, which I always like, I put a little mint sauce on these
  • also there were a lot of peas which I really really enjoy at the moment, I put a bit more mint sauce on these than the carrots, but I mixed them together anyway
  • edit: I also had three brussel sprouts that I had completely forgotten about, they weren't really too bad at all, I think i'm warming to them
  • I also put quite a bit of gravy on everything, but not too much
  • my mum made a pudding today, it was like a big bakewell tart, probably the best pudding/pie thing that shes ever done, she used plum jam with it, the plums are from her friend's garden and she made the jam her self so it was wonderfully sweet but not acidy tasting at all - it was a pastery layer, then moving into a soft but not sticky moist layer, then the jam, then a cakey layer, then into some soft bit then a crunchy top with almond bits on top which was perfect for me

Snacks 8.50PM+

  • tonight I had some of that polish stuff, I will check the names of the wafers because they really are special and even better for the price - I had about 1/4 of a packet, leaving a packet for tomorrow
  • I then had a piece of the plum pie thing which was amazing (it was also served cold at dinner too, I think its better like this) which leaves some for tomorrow if no-one gets to it first
  • we also got some polish crisps today, they are also good value, about £1.72 or something and you get a big bag suited to about 4-5 big servings, they were cheese and onion flavoured and crinkle cut - they were very nice and not too sharp at all, worth getting again but I don't think I want to have something greasy like crisps regularly as a snack because I really hate the feeling on my fingers

saturday's post

on saturday I got up at about 1.00PM to have a go at making crisps, I have tried it before in the microwave but thought I could do a much better job in the oven, I was wrong, it took me 4 potatoes to make about 6 crisps (I only ate about 10 actual crisps through the production process as well)

Breakfast

  • nope, I didn't have anything

Lunch

  • at lunch time I was trying to make those crisps, I ate a good bit of potato that didn't want to crisp up, but nothing else

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner my dad wanted to have a go at using a cut of pork that jamie oliver was talking about on the tv, so we had neck fillet steak - it tastes really interesting, he used the flavour shaker on this one and it had a really varied detailed taste, it tasted peppery as you first tasted it (it had a lot of black pepper corns on it) but then it tasted kind of rich and sweet like curry which was wonderful
  • with that he did some green beans with a small amount of onions and tomatoes over them which was very nice
  • there was also a normal sized packet's worth of walkers ready salted crisps, these were quite nice and I don't think I have much of a problem with crisps if I can wash my hands properly afterwards
  • I also had a slice of bread from the deli bread which was very nice, I dipped it in quite a bit of salt and pepper (didn't add much salt to the meal)
  • I also had a little of that saved over tomato and onion salad that I didn't like a couple of nights ago, it was alright, it had a bit of oil on it this time
  • I then had a nice banana

Snacks 9.35PM+

  • first I had my lunch from earlier, which was a macaroon, this is the first time i've ever had a macaroon and I think it was very nice, it was soft, and satisfyingly tacky without getting gooey and sticky, which was wonderful, it had some almond flakes on top of it which was very nice - I think i'd have one again
  • with that I had a bottle of fentiman's dandelion and burdock which was wonderful, I have always liked this drink because its always nice whereas their ginger beer can be muddy tasting sometimes

friday's post

on friday I got up at about 2.55PM, feeling a fair bit clearer than I had the rest of the week (it was a snow day anyway)

Breakfast

  • nope, too late for that

Lunch

  • I wish I had it, but I didn't get round to it

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner we had some kind of chicken stir fry, it was very nice and all together tasted sweet without tasting fishy
  • in with the chicken there was spring onions, bean sprouts, other onions, mushrooms and some other little things
  • we had noodles with it, which I really liked because we hadn't had them in ages
  • I put a small amount of light soy sauce on the meal, tried not to overload it though
  • I then had a very nice banana

Snacks 8.50PM+

  • first I started with my lunch, I had it so late because i've been feeling strangely full from dinner the last few days - maybe my stomach is shrinking or something weird like that
  • I started with my orange juice, we'd run out of the tesco stuff so I had spar's own brand orange juice, it tasted odd, like they had all the flavour of an alright orange, then turned it down a bit
  • I then had the rice, which was with peas and carrots - this was lovely, I really love how sweet the peas are
  • because I hadn't been liking the scones, my mum had some chocolate left over from when she was baking cakes, so I had some of that, it was tesco's dark chocolate which was very nice, one of those chocolates that tasted tainted, it tasted kind of fruit cakey, or at least sort of fruity
  • I then had a little more of the chocolate which was wonderful
  • my mum decided she wanted to make some toast, so I had some too - I had one piece, toasted on one side, the side that wasn't toasted, I had horseradish sauce and mint sauce - this was wonderful, but i'm not sure if it was the exact right mix of flavours, I want to try smoke garlic mayonnaise and mint sauce next

thursday's post

I got up at about 2.55PM today after not feeling very well again, my mind is full of cookery ideas though - I want to try and make crisps again, and maybe try making popcorn bars

Breakfast

  • nope, I didn't have anything

Lunch

  • I didn't have anything for lunch, and I wish I had

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner my mum brought home some samosas, I had one and a half, they weren't from a her friend as usual, but they were from a restaurant/sweet shop close to her work - they were nicely balanced, the potato wasn't too overpowering and they were wonderfully hot maybe even a little too hot i'm not sure (they didn't have any meat in them)
  • to go with that she made some lamb kebabs which were very nice because she put in some of her own curry spice mix which gave them a strong aftertaste
  • with that she had put some onions and tomatoes in a bowl, I had some of this but because there wasn't any oil/dressing stuff on it, I didn't really go for it
  • I then had a very nice banana

Snacks 9.40PM+

  • for a snack, I had my lunch from yesterday, I started with the scone like I said I would, it didn't really taste malty, but it tasted kind of dulled, and floury - not very nice sadly, I feel like a bastard saying that
  • I then had my rice, which was very nice, today it was rice, with a little bit of soy to stop it from drying out, carrots and peas - now that it has peas in it, I can say that it is lovely, the peas make it taste much sweeter and fresher

wednesday's post

today I got up at about 2.50PM, I tried getting up at normal time but I really felt terrible for some reason

Breakfast

  • nope, I didn't have anything

Lunch

  • nothing again, but I really think I should have had something because I felt quite light headed, I was planning to have my lunch after dinner but I never really got round to it

Dinner 7.05PM

  • for dinner we had the usual pataks chicken curry, it was very nice, my mum usually cooks this but my dad did this time - we had run out of yoghurt so he used some almond stuff instead to thicken it up, I can't say that you could really taste the almonds, but the whole curry tasted sweeter and more intense, i'm not sure but I think I might like it better with almonds
  • we had that on some normal white rice
  • and some garlic naan bread, that was a lot bigger than usual which is always a plus
  • I then had a very good banana

Snacks 8.40PM+

  • my mum was making cakes today for an office party, one was a chocolate fudge cake which is my all time favourite cake and reminds me very much of anything she cooks, because it was for the party I couldn't have any but luckily a bit fell off in the cake pan so I had it - it was perfect, firm and almost crisp on the outside but instantly moist and spoungey on the inside, I spent ages trying to get as much off the pan as possible
  • also, before that I 'helped with the washing up' by having the left over mix from the bowl, which was lovely
  • I then had a little taster of what the cake would taste like from a few broken bits with a little of the chocolate butter cream on top and it was amazing, I just hope the party is canceled so she brings the cake back home

Dear Lush cosmetics

I hate you.

So my dear mother gets a giant package from you, and you idiots pack it with popcorn?? I love popcorn, and theres the problem, every time she gets a package I can't help but eat quite a bit of this disgusting popcorn.

really it is disgusting, it tastes like soap, but my brain automatically thinks that popcorn is a treat, so I always try and fool my tastebuds into enjoying this foul packing foam substitute. Heres another thing, why don't you sell snacks? Half your product line smells like sweeties but I can't eat it - whats that about?? the publics crying out for snacks you know

Whats the point in my mother getting anything if I can't get at it first? I'm trying to keep up my tough guy persona here so I can't use a bubble gum bubble bath and yes I was tempted to eat this too.

So I get your popcorn, and I try and put some sugar and golden syrup on it, its still disgusting and soapy.

thats right

you drove a young man to put sugar and syrup on a bowl of packing materials

happy now???

also I don't even like your shampoo

tuesday's post

today I got up at about 11.30AM whilst still feeling pretty rough, generally quite a down day sadly

Breakfast

  • nope, I didn't want anything today

Lunch

  • I didn't get round to it, so I had my lunch after dinner

Dinner 6.30PM

  • for dinner my mum wanted stew, so we had it how she liked it which was beef stew, with some little bits of carrot in it, it also had the usual onion and mushroom bits in it nice and small like I like it
  • with that I had a baked potato
  • and some very nice peas (my mum got some on the way home)
  • we didn't have rice or dumplings which I find strange but it didn't stop it being a very nice meal
  • after that I had a very good banana

Snacks 7.45PM+

  • first I had my lunch, it was some rice like the day before, with just some carrots in it - I don't know, its not like it was cooked badly, I just don't know if i'm enjoying it so much, I need to think of something new to have that i'd really enjoy
  • I tried to have my scone, but it had that horrible malt taste to it again so I couldn't get past one bite, I gave it to my dad and he couldn't taste a thing, tomorrow i'm going to do a test, i'm starting to think it is the soy sauce on the rice ruining how i'm tasting the scone - so tomorrow i'll try my scone first
  • a while after that my mum gave us some pikelets that she got on the way home from work, I had two, on one I had peanut butter and on the other I had golden syrup - they were both lovely but the golden syrup one was the best, I think i'm going to try combining peanut butter and golden syrup and seeing what that tastes like next time we have some pikelets in the house

monday's post

on monday I first tried to get up at about 8.25AM but I really wasn't very well at all so I got up at about 2.30PM and felt rough all day

Breakfast

  • nope, really too late for that

Lunch 4.40PM

  • for lunch I had some orange juice which still tasted like egg which wasn't very nice at all
  • I then had some rice, it had been cooked the night before, just white rice with some soy sauce to keep it from going dry and some little bits of carrot, it was meant to have peas too but there weren't any. I don't know if I really liked this, I think I need the peas to help sweeten the whole thing up but i'm not sure
  • I then tried to have my scone, it was horrible, I really couldn't eat it and I don't know what was wrong with it, it tasted like terrible beer

Dinner 6.45PM

  • for dinner I had a piece of fried bread with some baked beans on top of it, and it was wonderful - perfect bread, I also added quite a bit of pepper to the beans and a little salt
  • with that I had some sausage patties which were lovely, not very greasy at all and I ended up adding quite a bit of pepper and quite a bit of salt to them (I know I shouldn't add salt to these but I always seem to)
  • there was also some bacon which I spent ages eating
  • and some chips, which were very nice
  • I then had a near perfect banana

Snacks 8.10PM+

  • tonight we had some chocolate peanuts and raisins, they were both from spa, and they were probably the best chocolate raisins i'd ever had, much better than the expensive holland and barret ones, the chocolate peanuts were very good as well - the raisins were out of the pick and mix, and had a slightly, its hard to put it into words, fragrant, almost flowery or fruity taste to them which was perfect, i'm guessing this is because they've had a chance to mix with lots of other sweets

Monday 2 February 2009

hi i'm not feeling very well

i'm not feeling very well so i'm just going to post a painting today and do the food tomorrow

typical for me to be ill on a snow day, I always seem to be, theres another one tomorrow though
this took about 35 minutes I think

Sunday 1 February 2009

sunday's post

today I got up at about 12.50PM, I finished watching the tribe series 3 which was amazing (my favourite show)

Breakfast

  • nah, I got up too late and I don't like having anything on a sunday anyway

Lunch

  • nope, I should have had something because I got really quite hungry but I didn't get round to it

Dinner 6.50PM

  • dinner was roast pork, which was very nice apart from I got a bit of string in mine (maybe my father doesn't like me anymore) I had about the average amount of gravy for me on the whole meal, not too much but probably a little more than the average person
  • on the pork I also put a lot of crab apple jelly, probably a lot more than I normally would, instead of just picking up the pork flavour a bit, it actually made it taste sweet
  • with that i had some crackling
  • some roast potatoes that I put a little bread sauce on, i'm warming to bread sauce now, its so nice and thick
  • some yorkshire puddings, a little bit of the bread sauce managed to get on them
  • a little bit of broccoli that got quite a bit of bread sauce on it
  • the main amount of the bread sauce was for the mix of mashed carrot and mashed swede, I don't know if its the best place for bread sauce but I like it
  • a lot of it also went onto some brussel sprouts which aren't too bad, still not my favourite thing
  • after that I had a perfect banana

Snacks 9.10PM+

  • for a snack I had my lunch from saturday, which was something that I think was called a vienna cup, it was wonderful, in a fairy cake casing it was a slightly cakey, cake shaped, biscuit that went in a bit at the centre where there was the best creamy kind of jelly strawberry topping thing i've ever had - it also had some icing sugar on top of it
  • with that I had a fentiman's lemonade which was very nice too, not bitter but I did have a lot of trouble getting the bloody thing open
